What Is It

It’s a ceramic coating. But like... you just spray it on.

Silica was built to push the limits of spray-applied protection. It bonds to your vehicle’s surfaces using high-solids SiO₂ polymers to create a hardened shell that stands up to harsh chemicals, environmental fallout, UV rays, and whatever else your car goes through.

Silica bridges the gap between traditional spray sealants and full ceramic coatings, delivering up to 12 months of protection from a single spray-on application. We chose performance over ease with this one. Sure, there’s a chance of streaking if you use too much, but use it right and it’ll leave behind a slick, ultra-glossy finish that looks like a professional coating. Silica transforms your paint with depth, clarity, and protection you can feel.

Use it on all exterior surfaces, including paint, glass, trim, plastics, and wheels. On its own or as a topper for coatings, Silica delivers coating-like protection in a bottle you can use in your driveway.

How to use it

It's pretty easy. Like an 8.7 out of 10 on the ease-of-use scale.

DON’T SPRAY TOO MUCH. Seriously.

Silica is a high-solids formula, so a little goes a long way. Here’s how to do it right:

  • Spray once onto your microfiber towel, and once or twice directly onto the panel
  • Work the product into the surface evenly using a crosshatch pattern
  • Flip to a clean, dry side of your towel and buff to a high-gloss finish
  • If you notice streaking, rebuff with a dry towel or lightly mist with water to level it out. Use less product on later sections.

Always apply to a clean, dry surface, one panel at a time. You don’t need to overthink it, just don’t overspray it.

For The Best Results Possible

Preparation determines performance. Follow these steps to get the absolute best performance and durability out of Silica.

DEEP CLEAN

  1. Wash Thoroughly
Start with a proper two-bucket wash using a wax-free, gloss-free shampoo. You want to strip the surface of any old protection, fillers, or grime.
  2. Remove Iron Contaminants
Use an iron remover to eliminate embedded fallout and brake dust. Let it react until you see the color change, then rinse thoroughly.
  3. Clay the Surface
Clay bar or use a clay mitt to remove bonded contaminants the wash didn’t catch. This step smooths the surface and preps it for bonding.

REMOVE SWIRLS

  1. Polish for Maximum Clarity (Optional, but recommended)
Machine or hand polish to remove swirl marks, oxidation, and minor defects. This isn’t required at all, it levels the surface and maximizes gloss. Silica lasts a long time, so if you're chasing that glassy, show-car finish, this is the move so you don’t trap the swirls underneath for a year.
  2. Wipe with a Surface Cleanser
After polishing, wipe the entire vehicle down with Slate or another dedicated surface prep product. This removes polishing oils and residue that would otherwise interfere with bonding.

APPLY

  1. Apply Silica
Spray once onto your towel, and once or twice on the panel. Work it in using a crosshatch pattern, then flip to a clean, dry side and buff to a high-gloss finish. Don’t oversaturate, and always apply to clean, dry surfaces.

Why It Matters
Proper prep is everything. Each step improves how Silica bonds, how long it lasts, and how insane it looks. Skip steps, and you’ll still get solid results, but the longevity may or may not suffer. Follow them, and you’ll get results that stop people in parking lots.
