What Is It

Start with a clean slate

Surface prep isn’t just about removing what you can see,  it’s about eliminating what you can’t. Slate was engineered with a balanced solvent blend that breaks the molecular bond between residual oils and your paint’s surface tension, so your coating can form a true chemical bond rather than sitting on contamination.

Where some alcohol-based mixes have a tendency to flash unevenly, causing streaks and the potential for leaving trace residues, Slate maintains a controlled evaporation rate. That means uniform cleaning, zero film, and a perfectly reactive surface ready for coating adhesion.

Each swipe promotes a stronger, more permanent bond between paint and protection. The result? Longer durability, higher gloss, and a noticeably smoother application.

pH neutral, low odor, and non-aggressive, Slate performs safely on paint, metal, glass, and tint without compromise. It’s honestly the best way to guarantee a flawless start before you seal the finish.

How to use it

We apologize for making this so difficult

  1. Spray onto a clean, cool surface
  2. Wipe immediately with a clean microfiber towel
  3. Flip to a dry side and buff lightly
  4. You’re ready to coat

Pro Tip: For interior glass or tinted windows, spray Slate directly onto your towel, not the surface.

How to dilute panel prep

How to dilute it

Doesn't Need It, but can be

For full panel prepping, use Slate Surface Cleanser at full strength. No dilution is needed to remove oils, residue, or polishing fillers before coating.

If you’d like to use it for maintenance wipes, glass cleaning, or in hot climates where slower flash time helps, you can dilute it 1:1 with distilled water.

Always mix with distilled water only, shake before refilling, and store in a clean spray bottle to keep performance consistent.
